About the bean

Our new lot of coffee from Nicaragua is sourced from Aldea Coffee, an initiative representing more than 13,000 small farmers in the verdant north of the country. Through Aldea, producers are able to leverage the initiative's commitment to quality coffee through shifting their practices to include agroforestry (a land use management system that integrates trees with crops), and farming methods that prioritize environmental health.

In the cup, we have a clean, sweet, dense coffee with a long finish. Home-roasters will enjoy the quality, consistency and freshness of these beans. We enjoyed sampling this one as an espresso and plunge-press brew, especially with some cream added in. A memorable texture and flavour that's perfect for those of you who like their coffee strong and sweet (the latter a conversation between dark chocolate and brown sugar). Pairs well with food.

Chocolate. Brown Sugar. Stone Fruit. Long Finish.
